The Amazing Double Standard of the Left

In Culture, Democrats, Front Page, US Politics by Allen WestLeave a Comment

I once read a comment stating that if it were not for double standards, the leftists in America would have no standards at all. I tend to fully agree. There can certainly be little debate on the issue of what is acceptable to the left, and it is unconscionable for constitutional conservatives. Now, we have yet another example, just coming off an embarrassment for Twitter, and its president, Jack Dorsey, last week with the revelations of “shadow-banning,” we have another faux pas.

As reported by Fox News:

“Twitter apologized Sunday after locking out conservative commentator Candace Owens from her account after she was accused of violating the social media platform’s rules. Twitter Support sent an email to Owens apologizing for locking her account and admitted to making an error. Owens responded to the unlocking of her account in a tweet. “BLOWN AWAY by the amount of patriots that just came to my side to make this happen,” Owens said in a tweet, adding she was “blessed to know you all.”  Owens’ Turning Point USA colleague Charlie Kirk tweeted earlier Sunday Owens was suspended after she copied tweets from New York Times editorial board member Sarah Jeong. Owens swapped Jeong’s tweets using different races and religions. Jeong came under fire last week after old tweets surfaced of her lashing out against white people. “Black people are only fit to live underground like groveling goblins. They have stopped breeding and will all go extinct soon. I enjoy being cruel to old black women,” Owens tweeted.”

If there is any doubt about these social media platforms targeting conservatives, it should be laid to rest. The fact that the exact same language was used — that of Sarah Jeong herself — except it was swapped out with certain words, is clear evidence that the tools used to adjudicate, and censor speech on these platforms is more about the political philosophy of the person, not what is being stated.

For Ms. Jeong to be able to make her hateful assertions with no repercussions, or consequences, is abjectly absurd, and disturbing. In essence, what Twitter is saying with this most recent episode, is that they have determined that “hate speech” can only go in one direction. And, that direction is according to the established rules of identity politics of the progressive socialist left.

Ms. Owens’ little ambush goes far beyond the surface, and it should be very disconcerting to us all. If these social media platforms claim to be an open forum for all, why do they continue to evidence that fairness is a one way street? Ms. Jeong should have been banned for her speech, and Twitter posts, but she was not. As a matter of fact, she is now a member of the NY Times editorial board. Now, is there any doubt about their bias?

This is what the NY Times had to say about not rejecting Ms. Jeong:

“The New York Times last week revealed it was standing by its hiring of Jeong despite several derogatory tweets of hers aimed at white people. “We hired Sarah Jeong because of the exceptional work she has done … her journalism and the fact that she is a young Asian woman have made her a subject of frequent online harassment. For a period of time she responded to that harassment by imitating the rhetoric of her harassers,” The Times said in a statement. “She regrets it, and The Times does not condone it.”

In other words, the NY Times justified the actions of Ms. Jeong because she was lowering herself to the “deplorable” standards of others on Twitter? Hmm, what happened to journalistic professionalism? Therefore, am I to deduce that when those on the left refer to me as an “Uncle Tom,” “sellout,” “Oreo,” “House N****r,” or “white man’s porch monkey,” I am allowed to respond in like denigrating and disparaging terms? Here’s a screenshot of an account on Twitter that follows me (along with other Black conservatives such as Herman Cain and Ben Carson), for the sole purpose of harassment. Despite the numerous reports about the account, as of this writing, it’s still an active Twitter account. Amazing, isn’t it?

I mean the left goes apoplAllen West Old School Patriot double standard media bias hypocrisy Facebook Twitterectic when I use references such as “21st century economic plantation” — albeit a truism when one observes our inner cities in America — Democrat controlled of course. I remember when the Florida Democratic Party openly displayed my social security number, and my wife Angela’s EIN on a mailer piece that went out to tens of thousands of households. They issued a backhanded apology, but they knew exactly what they were doing. Imagine if the Florida Republican Party had done that to a Black congressional candidate?

What Twitter has firmly stated is that a minority, in this case Ms. Jeong, can be as racist, and belligerent, as she wishes towards white people. If Ms. Jeong had experienced any consequences to her antics, then Ms. Owens would not have been able to pull off her very well conceived Twitter ambush. And, once again, for the second week in a row, Jack Dorsey finds himself embarrassed, and apologizing, but does he really mean it?

We are supposed to believe that Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Google, and Instagram will fairly monitor the activities on their platforms? I, for one, wholeheartedly believe that there is a dedicated “insurance policy” of conservative censorship happening in our country. I just have to laugh because the greatest degree of intolerance comes from those who profess to be the most tolerant.

Free speech in America is devolving into being “accepted speech.” It is accepted by the progressive socialist left to bash, and demean, certain groups — whites and constitutional conservative minorities top that list. However, if you ridicule a leftist, as the Conservative Millennial Allie Stuckey did in her parody video of Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, you must be burned at the stake of the left’s defined double standard of political correctness — in essence, they only can ridicule, according to Saul Alinsky’s Rules for Radicals.

Ms. Sarah Jeong, in any other world, would be castigated as a racist. However, in the progressive socialist sphere, she is elevated and regarded as only those who do not bow down to the false gods of progressive socialism are the racists, sexists, homophobes, islamophobes, and xenophobes.

Congratulations Ms. Owens, you planned and executed an exceptional U-Shaped ambush of the left, namely Twitter. You exposed, once again, the hypocrisy and the double standard of the progressive socialist left — well-played young lady!
