It is always amazing how the left can do something, that is unconstitutional, and believe they are justified in doing so. Case in point, the declarations of sanctuary cities and states for illegal immigrants . . . and forcing law-abiding American taxpayers to fund benefits for those in our country illegally. This is an action that cannot be defended, save from a tyrannical belief that the ideological agenda of the progressive socialist left is of greater preeminence than our rule of law.I have said this before and will repeat it again: for the left in America, their ideological agenda is the law, and their religion. Anyone daring to stand against it, like a Christian baker named Jack Phillips from Colorado, must be dragged before the Sanhedrin, our Supreme Court since his religious freedoms are subservient to the left’s LGBTQ agenda. And so we now have a confrontation brewing in the very State that produced the authors of our Declaration of Independence and our US Constitution . . . Virginia.
As reported by the Virginia Mercury:
“In an overflowing meeting room, speakers repeatedly invoked the Virginia-born Founding Fathers who saw fit to enshrine firearms in the U.S. Constitution.
One man said the impeachment inquiry against President Donald Trump — which he suggested could be a “coup” — shows the need for an armed citizenry capable of standing up to tyranny. Another raised the possibility that, if Americans can’t keep their guns, they may one day have to “do like in Hong Kong,” where pro-democracy protesters are using improvised weapons like bows, firebombs and catapults to resist authorities.
“The time is coming,” said Jeff Wade, an assistant pastor at a Baptist church in Madison Heights. “I’m mighty afraid that we’re going to have to defend ourselves because of what we believe in. Not only on the Second Amendment, but on any other issue that the government declares to be right, but God declares to be wrong.” Though the spirit of rebellion was running high among the crowd of well over 300 that packed the Amherst County Board of Supervisors meeting Tuesday night, the paper before the board was comparatively mild.
Amherst — a rural county of almost 32,000 people north of Lynchburg — was set to declare itself a “Second Amendment Sanctuary,” following a mostly symbolic trend sweeping the countryside after Democrats triumphed in this month’s General Assembly elections while promising to enact tougher gun laws. With legislative majorities taking power for the session that begins in January, Democrats are expected to push for universal background checks, red flag laws that would allow authorities to take guns from people deemed to be a threat, bans on assault-style weapons and high-capacity magazines and other measures. At least seven counties — Carroll, Charlotte, Campbell, Appomattox, Patrick, Pittsylvania and Dinwiddie — have passed gun sanctuary resolutions, according to the Virginia Citizens Defense League, a pro-gun lobbying group helping to organize the effort. By the time lawmakers return to Richmond in January, dozens more could follow.”
Here in Texas, we are seeing a sweeping movement of pro-life sanctuary counties, as well as 2nd Amendment sanctuary counties. I fully support these efforts. If you look at what is happening in red states across America, the left is taking control of the major population centers, and this is enabling them to take control of these states. It is the tyranny of population, the result of a pure Democracy, and why the left now wants to abolish the electoral college.
In Virginia, the density of population in several places, Fairfax, Prince William, Hampton Roads, along with Richmond, has shifted the political demographics of the state that gave us a litany of Founding Fathers.
As well, we are seeing the exact same thing happen here in Texas, where three of the top ten largest cities in America reside, Houston, Dallas, and San Antonio. All of these Texas cities are controlled by the progressive socialist left, and they are seeking to expand into surrounding counties. We shared with you last week that the San Antonio city council is seeking to move The Alamo cenotaph, for a more inclusive history.
How do the leftist Virginia lawmakers feel about these citizens’ concerns about their constitutional right to keep and bear arms, that shall not be infringed?
In a statement, Attorney General Mark [“Blackface”] Herring’s office said the resolutions “appear to be nothing more than symbolic.”
“It’s not clear what a Second Amendment sanctuary is, what its proponents are hoping to accomplish, or what authority they think they have to preemptively opt out of gun safety laws, but if the Virginia Citizens Defense League is circulating it you can bet it’s a bad idea,” said Herring spokeswoman Charlotte Gomer. “If the General Assembly passes new gun safety laws, as Virginia voters demanded just two weeks ago, we expect that everyone will follow the law and keep their citizens safe.”
A spokeswoman for Gov. Ralph “Blackface” Northam said Northam’s gun proposals are “basic, commonsense measures that any responsible gun owner should support.”“Let’s be clear, as the results of this election prove, Virginians are demanding their legislators take real action to combat gun violence and save lives,” said Northam spokeswoman Alena Yarmosky.
Reached by phone Wednesday, Sen. Dick Saslaw, the Fairfax Democrat will retake his post as majority leader come January, didn’t mince words about those pushing the idea of gun sanctuaries. “They’re delusional,” Saslaw said.”When the progressive socialist left unconstitutionally declares states and cities sanctuary for illegal immigrants, they are justified. When law-abiding, legal gun-owning Americans declare their counties Second Amendment sanctuaries they… Click To Tweet
How interesting, when the progressive socialist left unconstitutionally declares states and cities sanctuary for illegal immigrants, they are justified. When law-abiding, legal gun-owning Americans declare their counties Second Amendment sanctuaries they are “delusional.”
This means that if Virginia passes sweeping red flag laws, anyone not in compliance will be deemed “delusional” and able to have their gun rights taken away. Virginia is not too far away from Maryland, where a year ago, November 5, 2018, 61-year-old Gary Willis was gunned down by two police officers serving a red flag protection order. Yes, an innocent man lost his life, and to this day, no one knows who those police officers were, or the initiator of the red flag protection order. Heck, the order has not even been seen.
Is this where we are heading in Virginia? Trust me, here in Texas, constitutional carry was not even taken up this past legislative session. It seems there was a problem with the Committee with oversight on the issue being Chaired by a Democrat . . . who now faces criminal charges for possession of cocaine. I am sure that since he is a Democrat he felt justified.
What is even more disturbing about this situation in Virginia is the compliant acquiescence of blacks.
“When her name was called to speak, Gloria Witt, a representative from the Amherst NAACP, took the lectern in front of the overwhelmingly white crowd and asked: “What are you afraid of?”
“It’s not about taking your guns,” Witt said. “And the fact that all of Amherst County would show up in an outcry to stand against what might happen … What does that say about all these little counties?”
Describing herself as a “country girl,” Witt said all the men in her family have guns, but she sees no reason to oppose universal background checks and bans on military-style weapons.
“As an African-American female, it’s quite interesting that you can get this kind of energy around something like this when we’re killing people with guns that were designed for military use,” Witt said as some in the crowd murmured disapproval. “Shooting an animal is one thing. Target practicing is another one. Having a gun that will shoot 50 rounds in 30 seconds, I argue, is not necessary.”
Ms. Witt is certainly what I would call a “useful idiot.” Obviously she does not know her history and that it was the Democrat-created KKK that sought to disarm recently freed blacks. I wonder how often she speaks out about the scourge of black on black gun violence, which has nothing to do with the law-abiding citizens of Amherst County? Ma’am, my Sig Sauer p320 semi-automatic handgun is now the official sidearm of the US Army. Does that mean I should not have a p320? As well, only a buffoon would take a civilian AR-15 onto a combat battlefield, it is a semi-automatic weapon. Only someone with a death wish would take a semi-automatic rifle into a combat zone. Then again, I guess they just look mean? Ms. Witt, stop being a tool for the progressive socialist left and ol’ “Blackface” Northam.
Let me remind y’all of two very important lessons from Virginians.
“The laws that forbid the carrying of arms are laws of such a nature. They disarm only those who are neither inclined nor determined to commit crimes…. Such laws make things worse for the assaulted and better for the assailants; they serve rather to encourage than to prevent homicides, for an unarmed man may be attacked with greater confidence than an armed man.”
– Thomas Jefferson, Commonplace Book (quoting 18th-century criminologist Cesare Beccaria), 1774-1776
“To disarm the people…[i]s the most effectual way to enslave them.”
– George Mason, referencing advice given to the British Parliament by Pennsylvania governor Sir William Keith, The Debates in the Several State Conventions on the Adoption of the Federal Constitution, June 14, 1788
“Guard with jealous attention the public liberty. Suspect everyone who approaches that jewel. Unfortunately, nothing will preserve it but downright force. Whenever you give up that force, you are ruined . . . The great object is that every man be armed. Everyone who is able might have a gun.”
– Patrick Henry, Speech to the Virginia Ratifying Convention, June 5, 1778
Or, as Spartan King Leonidas said, “Molon Labe,” which translates into what we Texans said, “Come and Take It.”
