Greetings, folks! It is that time again! My, how a week just flies by! It is time for our weekly homage to the useful idiots and mindless lemmings, “Stuck on Stupid Saturday.” Oh boy, ever since we began this journey, I truly thought it would be challenging to find a winna, winna, chicken dinna each week, but, nah, it’s been easy peasy. And yes, we have had bipartisanship, as well.
This week’s recipient has been a long time foe and adversary of mine, but not anymore.
See, remember that thing called the “fairness doctrine?” Yes, that was where the progressive socialist left tried to make public air time, well, fair. They wanted to force equal time to have people listen to their incessant, sheeple blather. Do you recall Air America? Or, I must ask, is Randy Rhodes still on the air?
Okay, this week’s “Stuck on Stupid Saturday” awardee is — drum roll please — Yep, Think Progress!
As reported by the Washington Free Beacon:
“Left-wing think tank Center for American Progress is putting its news source ThinkProgress up for sale, citing financial strains.
“Unfortunately, like so many other news outlets that have relied on advertising to fund its work, ThinkProgress has seen a significant drop in revenue in recent years, along with other financial strains. In addition, events over the last few years have underscored the divergent missions of American Progress and ThinkProgress,” Navin Nayak, executive director of the CAP Action Fund, told the Daily Beast.
“For all of these reasons, we announced to the ThinkProgress staff today that we are searching for a new publisher for the news site,” Nayak continued.
“This is a tough decision since ThinkProgress has been a part of CAP Action almost since its founding. While ThinkProgress‘ financial challenges are unsustainable for an organization like CAP Action, we are hopeful that there are publishers who would be better able to support ThinkProgress‘ mission and better positioned to maximize the significant value ThinkProgress has built up.”
ThinkProgress was launched in 2005 to provide a left-wing voice during President George W. Bush’s administration. It describes itself as “editorially independent” from CAP. It has never been profitable, and according to the Daily Beast, revenue have [sic] dropped in recent years and fewer advertisers have been attracted to the site.”
It should become more and more apparent to the progressive socialist left that regular folks and advertisers do not want to sit and hear about how bad America is 24/7. Most people are done with the propping up of folks like Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez. And, what gives me just a tad bit of joy is that the Center for American Progress (Regress) is funded by one George Soros. I am quite sure that our reveling in the demise of Think Progress just may inspire him to write one of his 1 percenter checks to keep them afloat . . . but the inevitable is upon them.It should be apparent to the progressive socialist left that regular folks and advertisers do not want to sit and hear about how bad America is 24/7. One just has to wonder, what keeps MSNBC and CNN on the air? We know that our taxpayer dollars keep PBS going. Actually, that is the only way that leftist media can survive, as a nationalized tool of the government, ya know, Pravda. The whole state-controlled media thing, perhaps that is why the Washington Post can survive, since its benefactor is the world’s richest fella, and his ex-wife is top three in the women’s category. We know that Jeff Bezos is not exactly a constitutional conservative.
So, bye-bye Think Progress, we knew you well, and cared little for your obnoxious absurdity. Perhaps next to go is Media Matters, who, just this week, referred to me as the worst on-air commentator ever! Dang it, worse than Don Lemon? Or Al Sharpton, who cannot even read a teleprompter?
Think Progress, y’all were always “Stuck on Stupid,” we are just finally confirming it with the designation you deserve.
