A Black Man’s Response to “Pandering Pete’s” Racial Claims

It appears that the highly intellectual, Ivy League-educated Democrat (socialist) Party presidential candidate Pete Buttigieg needs a lesson regarding the maxim, “when you are in a hole, stop digging.”

We recently shared with you his exaggerated claims of black support in South Carolina. And, this week, I read he is polling at 0 percent with blacks in South Carolina. Yes, I said, “Pandering Pete” is at 0 percent with blacks in South Carolina. So, what does this little wannabe combat hero do? Yes, he digs even deeper.

As reported by the Washington Post:

“Mayor Pete Buttigieg has delivered a provocative response in recent days to those who challenge his empathy with black Americans: His experience as a gay man helps him relate to the struggles of African Americans.

That has angered some African Americans, who view it as an attempt by a privileged white man to claim a type of victimhood that is distinct from the black experience in America, even while others take the comments more favorably.

Oliver Davis, a black council member in South Bend, Ind., where Buttigieg is mayor, said that African Americans, unlike gay people, don’t have the option of “coming out” at their chosen moment — as did Buttigieg, who disclosed his sexual orientation after he had been elected mayor.

“When you see me, you would know that I’m African American from day one,” said Davis, who has endorsed former vice president Joe Biden. “When someone is gay or a lesbian, unless they tell or they are seen in certain situations, then no one is going to know that. They are able to build their résumés and build their career.”

LGBT activists see something different in Buttigieg — a barrier-breaker from a group that has long faced bigotry and violence, a face of the latest struggle for inclusion. And while some successfully conceal their difference, say leaders of the movement for gay equality, that decision can come with its own steep costs.

Evan Wolfson, founder of Freedom to Marry, which helped lead the fight for same-sex marriage, said Buttigieg’s message is not “an attempt to appropriate someone else’s experience.” Rather, he said, the mayor is saying that “because he, too, has had to deal with his own struggles, that has made him more aware of the need to connect with the struggles of others.”

That question — how to square Buttigieg’s privileges with the adversity that comes with anti-gay prejudice — is becoming sharper as the 37-year-old Afghan war [desk jockey] veteran rises in the polls and scrambles for ways to connect with black voters. And it renews the issue of how Americans, of any background, will respond to the candidacy of an openly gay man, one who holds hands with his husband and publicly discusses his decision to come out.”

I find this pandering charlatan’s comments to be abjectly offensive and condescending. Anyone trying to defend these remarks is delusional and deranged. For anyone attempting to draw parallels to the experiences of blacks in America to being gay is utterly absurd.

First, let me expound upon what Councilman Oliver Davis asserted. Sexuality is a behavior. Behaviors can be changed or even hidden out of sight until such a time is deemed for it to be shared. No one knows that someone is gay, lesbian, bisexual, and other sexual behaviors unless they are openly shared. If there is one thing anyone can ascertain about me once I walk out of the house it is that my race is American black . . . of which I am proud.

In 1961, I was born in a 'blacks only' hospital -- Hughes-Spalding -- in Atlanta, Georgia. @PeteButtigieg, I would like to know where there are any 'gays only' hospitals in these United States? Click To Tweet

In 1961, I was born in a “blacks only” hospital — Hughes-Spalding — in Atlanta, Georgia. I would like to know where there are any “gays only” hospitals in these United States? And, to this Evan Wolfson character, I say: do not equate the black civil rights movement with the quest for same-sex marriage. For the record, I support civil unions, but marriage is between one man and one woman. God knows, blacks in America had to even fight for that freedom.

Buttigieg is running as a candidate for president in a political party that has done everything in its power to create the struggles for blacks in America. As far as I know, no gay person in America has had to endure slavery, Jim Crow, poll taxes, literacy tests, lynchings, beatings, water hoses, dog attacks, the Ku Klux Klan, nor be relegated to economic enslavement and the 21st century economic plantation known as the inner cities…which Democrat (socialists) control.

“Pandering Pete” and his community have thrived in America, are highly educated, wealthy, and greatly accepted and adopted by the academic, entertainment, cultural elites. There was more sympathy for the AIDS epidemic that there will ever be for the urban killing fields, such as Chicago, where blacks and murdering blacks in weekly mass shootings.

As well, since Roe v. Wade, in 1973, there have been 20 million black babies murdered in the womb. Yet, somehow this disturbed white elite gay man from the Midwest is going to relate to that? Tell me Pete, how many gay, lesbian, bisexual, or gender dysphoric babies have been murdered in the womb in the past 46 years?

You speak of sexual preference, well, does that mean you believe that there is racial preference? At what point and time did I, or any American black person, get to choose our race? That was done by my proud black parents.

Let me say one more thing: you keep touting you are some kind of combat veteran. My dad, Herman West Sr., served in World War II when, as a black man, this nation did not afford him all rights and privileges. My older brother served as a Marine infantryman in Vietnam, wounded at Khe Sahn. You have no idea about their struggles!

Perhaps you did not see the movie “The Green Book.” It was all about blacks knowing where they could drive and find lodging in the deep South . . . where I grew up. I remember dad knowing that there were certain counties in Georgia deemed unacceptable for him to drive through as a black man at night. Tell me “Pandering Pete,” are there any counties in America where gay, lesbian, bisexual, and gender dysphoric Americans are unable to drive through?

Yes, I am angered by your illiterate and dismissive comment, and attitude. Yet, you wonder why you are polling at zero percent with blacks in  South Carolina. After these comments you will be in the negative range, not to mention your previous comments about black kids not having good examples of educated individuals, back a few years ago.

Regardless, I guess it is to be expected as the party of the jackass has always held blacks in contempt. Y’all Democrats (socialists) have implemented the soft bigotry of low expectations and rendered our proud black community as pathetic victims. You, sir, are despicable, but keep digging, thinking that you are just soooo smart. The truth is, you are truly a special kind of stupid to make such an abjectly ignorant assertion, statement.

Keep going out there and kissing Al Sharpton’s arse, someone who will come to your defense, for the right price. However, to those of us in the proud American Black community, you represent what we despise the most . . . a pandering white boy.

As Malcom X stated:

“The worst enemy that the Negro have is this white man that runs around here drooling at the mouth professing to love Negros and calling himself a liberal, and it is following these white liberals that have perpetuated problems that Negros have. If the Negro wasn’t taken, tricked or deceived by the white liberal, then Negros would get together and solve our own problems. I only cite these things to show you that in America, the history of the white liberal has been nothing but a series of trickery designed to make Negros think that the white liberal was going to solve our problems. Our problems will never be solved by the white man.”

Mayor “Pandering” Pete Buttigieg, based upon this description of you by Malcolm X,  you are officially declared an enemy to our American Black community . . . you know nothing of our struggle!
