It’s been a long time coming but perhaps we are about to witness something that the Democrat party has experienced previously. It is the modern-day escape from their plantations. See, once upon a time, the Democrat party in America stood for physical enslavement, and abolitionists and free blacks enabled those seeking freedom to flee, using the Underground Railroad. For those who fail to know their history, remember that the Republican Party was established as a one-issue organization: to abolish slavery. Funny, the Democrats today want to abolish ICE. But, I digress.
As the Grand Ol’ Party fulfilled their commitment to ending slavery, granting citizenship, and protections, it was the Democrat Party that created our nation’s first domestic terrorist organization, the white-robed and hooded Ku Klux Klan. Funny, the Democrats today created the black-hooded and masked domestic terrorist gang, Antifa. Doggone, this is why they say, those who fail to learn from history are doomed to repeat it.
Over the years, the black community experienced even worse discrimination, albeit they were no longer economic slaves, but they were still deemed inferior. As the Congress of the United States changed hands from Republicans to Democrats at the turn of the century into the twentieth, the Democrats instituted policies such as Jim Crow, poll taxes, literacy tests . . . even as blacks were somewhat thriving due to early conservatives such as Booker T. Washington. But to counter Washington’s endeavors, white progressive socialists created an organization called the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP). They placed at the head of this organization a black man who would go on to be an avowed communist who eventually would renounce his American citizenship, W.E.B. Du Bois. Did I mention that the Democrat party elected a black president whose policies were certainly progressive, socialist?
Yes, a Democrat president named Harry Truman desegregated our Armed Forces. He lost reelection to General Dwight Eisenhower, as he lost the Democrat Party’s support. Eisenhower, a Republican, used federalized troops to desegregate schools, enforcing the Brown v. Board of Education court decision. A Democrat Senator, Lyndon Johnson, created something called the Johnson Amendment. Basically, it was focused on silencing black pastors as the Civil Rights movement, begun in black churches, started to gain momentum. Did I mention that the Democrat Party is still trying to shut down free speech?
Johnson, as president, unleashed his FBI Director, J. Edgar Hoover, on Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., and approved surveillance against him. Johnson was kicking and biting the whole way about the Civil Rights legislation, which prominent Democrats like Al Gore Sr. and Robert Byrd opposed. Did I mention that Democrat Senator Robert Byrd was a Grand Poobah in the KKK? It took Senate Republicans, led by Everett Dirksen to get the Civil Rights legislation passed. Did I mention the very disparaging comment President Johnson made to southern, Democrat governors about how blacks would vote for the Democrat Party for 200 years if the Civil Rights and Voting Rights legislation were to pass? Note, Johnson did not use the word black or negro.
And so, the Democrat Party, thanks to Lyndon Johnson, cleaned up their act and went from physical enslavement to economic enslavement, the latter being far more detrimental. See, the latter destroys will, determination, pride, and self-esteem. Economic enslavement traps one into a cycle of dependency so that even though Johnson declared a “war on poverty,” we still have poverty. Remember that under Barack Obama poverty and food stamp usage exploded?
See, the Democrats moved away from the physical plantation to a metaphysical one, within the inner cities, and folks are trapped there. Instead of crops such as cotton, or other commodities to be harvested, today the Democrat Party harvests votes from the black community. And, so it was, a new “emancipator” came about and asked a very seminal question to the black community: “what the heck do you have to lose?” Donald Trump was correct, which angered and unnerved the Democrat plantation owners and their black overseers. Now we have record low black unemployment, and there is a possibility that we can restore the black family and better quality education as real hope is returning.
Now, there is a new “Underground Railroad” and it has a catchy name. As reported by Fox News:
“Conservative activist Candace Owens says she wants to “free” black voters from the decades-long grip of the Democratic Party – and is urging them to support a new movement she’s calling “Blexit.”
“Blexit is a Renaissance,” Owens told Fox News, giving the backstory behind the campaign she launched over the weekend. “Blexit is the black exit from the Democratic Party. It’s the black exit from permanent victimhood, the black exit from the false idea that we are somehow separate from the rest of America.”
The movement is geared toward the next election cycle, not the midterms. Owens said she is focused on the 2020 elections and plans to hold rallies in every major American city she claims has been hurt by Democratic policies including Chicago, Philadelphia, and Detroit.
“There are people that want to change their lives that have been lied to by the media,” Owens said. “There should be something waiting for them when they make that decision, and, now, Blexit will be there.”
Yes, the term is a spinoff from the Brexit movement that released the United Kingdom from the globalist designs of the European Union. And think about it, there is already another movement called #WalkAway and now there is one specifically focused on the black community.
It warms my heart to see young black conservatives, notice I did not say Republicans, but those who are laser-focused on the principles and values that must be reestablished in the black community. Now, of course, the usual suspects were recently rolled out, like the ultimate plantation overseer, Al Sharpton, to claim that young black conservatives are being “used” by President Trump because of his recent Young Black Conservative Leadership Summit. Used? Used? What the heck does Al Sharpton think the Democrat party has been doing all these years to the black community. After all, what do these young people have to lose?
What is happening is that these young people do not want to be used like they have seen the self-ascribed “talented tenth” gatekeepers tell them how and what they are supposed to think.
“Blexit!” What an awesome play on words, and appropriate for the modern-day 21st-century escape from the progressive socialist plantation. You know, many of us ran away from those confines years ago, and the public denigration, disparagement, and demeaning words have been vitriolic — no different from the beatings and lynchings of the past. Ponder this: why are two former Military black conservatives, John James, running for Senate in Michigan, and Eddie Edwards, running for House of Representatives in New Hampshire, not being widely celebrated?
They escaped the progressive socialist economic plantation . . . and that is the most heinous offense to the left. Trust me, I know, because the more who join Blexit, the more vicious and ugly the left will get. Once it was about picking cotton . . . today it is about picking up votes, and anything threatening that livelihood will be assailed.
