Just last week I was watching — for the umpteenth time — the movie “The Untouchables” which was about the taking down of Chicago mob boss Al Capone by Prohibition Agent Eliot Ness. Of course, we all know that prohibition was overturned in the end. However, my most favorite moment in the movie — yes, even topping Kevin Costner as Eliot Ness tossing Capone’s enforcer character, Frank Nitti, off the roof of the building — was when Sean Connery’s character explained “The Chicago Way” to Costner. Plainly put, Connery, who was portraying a member of Ness’ Untouchables team, explained that the Chicago Way was about being tough, brutal if need be. He asserted, “if they put one of yours in the hospital, you put one of theirs in the morgue.” He asked Costner’s character, Eliot Ness, “what are you willing to do?”
Well, how interesting that the famed doctrine of American progressive socialists, “Rules for Radicals,” was written by Chicagoan, Saul Alinsky. Consider the litany of leftist radicals who have emanated from the famed Windy City: Barry Soetoro (aka Barack Obama), Hillary Clinton, David Axelrod, David Plouffe, Rahm Emanuel, Valerie Jarrett, Louis Farrakhan, and Jesse Jackson, to name a few.
Remember it was Mob Boss Obama who stated back in 2008, “Chicago is coming to Washington, DC.” Oh boy, did it! I mean, who else would have used such language as “argue with them . . . get in their faces,” “punish our enemies,” and the infamous “if they bring a knife to the fight, we bring a gun.” Yeah, that is the Chicago way, telling your political opposition “I won, you lost” and that they can “get on the back of the bus.”
This is what we know, but the Chicago way is even more blatant, corrupt, and insidious at the local level. And sadly, a young millennial who only wanted to run for office to make a difference is finding out what the Chicago way means.
As reported by the Chicago Tribune‘s John Kass:
“The history of the little guy being squashed by massive Chicago political clout at election time is just too long to print without weeping.
But the story for today is so amazing that some Chicago election officials have never seen the like.
“No one can remember anything approaching this,” said an election official.
It’s overkill of epic proportions, like using a sledgehammer to kill a gnat, or firing off a nuclear weapon to kill a sparrow. A Southwest Side David vs. Goliath story.
The David is David Krupa, 19, a freshman at DePaul University who drives a forklift part-time. He’s not a political powerhouse. He’s just a conservative Southwest Side teenager studying political science and economics who got it in his head to run for alderman in a race that pits him against the most powerful ward organization in Chicago.
The Goliath is the 13th Ward Democratic Organization run by House Speaker Michael J. Madigan, aka Boss Madigan, the most powerful politician in the state. Boss Madigan has long hand-picked his aldermen. He likes them loyal and quiet. The current silent alderman of the 13th Ward is Marty Quinn.
“I’m from Clearing,” Krupa told me. “All I want to do is get on the ballot to address the serious issues we have, from public safety to taxes. People don’t want to say things out loud here. People who’ve challenged the 13th Ward get intimidated. You know the neighborhood.”
To get on the ballot, Krupa was required to file 473 valid signatures of ward residents with the Chicago Board of Elections. Krupa filed 1,703 signatures.
But before he filed his signatures with the elections board, an amazing thing happened along the Chicago Way. An organized crew of political workers — or maybe just civic-minded individuals who care about reform — went door to door with official legal papers. They asked residents to sign an affadavit [sic] revoking their signature on Krupa’s petition.
More than 2,700 revocations were turned over to the elections board to cancel the signatures on Krupa’s petitions. Chicago Board of Elections officials had never seen such a massive pile of revocations.
“The board has received a few revocations here and there in very rare electoral board cases over the years,” said election board spokesman Jim Allen.
But more than 2,700? Impossible, no?
The number of revocations far exceeds the number of signatures Krupa collected. That means false affidavits were filed with the elections board.
There is no litigation, yet, but election attorney Michael Dorf, who is representing Krupa, says this case is a “clown car of felonies.”
“We turned in 1,703 signatures. We compared them to the 2,796 revocations, and found only 187 matches, meaning only 187 people who signed David’s petitions filed revocations,” Dorf said. “So, what about the 2,609 people who didn’t sign for David but who filed revocations? That’s fraud. That’s perjury. That’s felony.”
Did I mention that 19-year old David Krupa is a conservative freshman college student and a part-time forklift operator? Now, let’s just imagine if all of this were happening in the opposite direction. What if young David was a minority 19-year old progressive socialist running for elected office in a Republican-dominated state House district and this happened to him? Oh yeah, you know what the headlines would be all over liberal progressive media. But, do any of you think you will be hearing of the travails of David Krupa on ABC, CBS, NBC, MSNBC, CNN, or PBS? Heck, we may not even hear about it on Fox News.
What this represents is not just the Chicago Way, but the progressive socialist way. It is the way of Saul Alinsky and his rules for radicals, which means there are no rules. It is what the left in America wants, ideological domination, no chances for any political opposition at all. And sadly, this is yet another episode in an ongoing series of reruns that evidences Democrat election fraud and corruption. The question remains, as it does at the end of every episode, will there be any consequences, ramifications, for those who are complicit in this very bad Kabuki theater of the absurd?
David Krupa’s campaign collected and turned in 1,703 petition signatures. The thugs of the Democrat Mob Boss Michael Madigan went out and shook down folks for 2,796 petition revocations. How can it be that they garnered more revocations than actual petitions signed? That is kinda like when St. Lucie (Florida) County Supervisor of Elections, Gertrude Walker, reported that there was a voting precinct in my 2012 congressional reelection that had 118% voter turnout. Governor Rick Scott accepted those voting results from her. Lest I digress, now, only 187 revocations match the names that signed petitions for Krupa. Hmm, as the article states, 2,609 people signed a legal document for revocation of a signature they had never presented on an election candidacy petition. Fraud, perjury, felony.
Who is going to jail? Or is this just another case of the Chicago, progressive socialist, way, and they just laugh as they get away with it again? What lesson does this give to young David Krupa, a hard-working young American fella who just wanted to do what is right? And when will we expose the real purveyors of election fraud and voter suppression — the Democrat party? Hey, these folks have been at this whole voter suppression and intimidation thing going back to their original gang of thugs that they created, the Ku Klux Klan.
I just wanna know, when is the US Department of Justice going to come in and investigate this clear and apparent crime? I mean, c’mon, Columbo (Peter Falk, folks) would have had this case solved in less than an hour.
This is the Chicago Way. Just as the movie depicted Sean Connery asking Kevin Costner, “what are you willing to do?” I now ask, when will we find resolute and principled Constitutional Conservatives who will crush this political mob that dominates the American electoral system with their filthy and vile corruption, and unethical behavior?
We at least owe it to David Krupa, and other young conservatives, to fight back.
