If there is a common thread across our America, it is the fact that our major population centers are controlled by progressive socialists. And sadly, that is the case even in so-called “red” conservative states. Here in Texas, for example, we are dealing with leftist tyrants ad nauseam. The recent issue with the unconstitutional jailing of salon owner Shelley Luther in Dallas is evidence. As well, we have leftists running amok in Houston, San Antonio, Austin, El Paso, and Laredo enacting decrees, edicts, mandates, and orders to undermine individual constitutional liberties and rights.
Yes, ladies and gents, Rahm Emanuel’s maxim, “never let a good crisis go to waste,” is playing out right before our eyes.
All over our nation, we are watching despicable acts by those who would suspend our constitutional rights, under the absurd guise of our “public good.” This is no longer about safeguarding the American people from the COVID-19 virus, which again, has a 99.6 percent recovery rate. This is now, clearly, about the government’s usurpation of our freedoms and the imposition of a vision of tyranny. As Rep. James Clyburn (D-SC) stated on April 2nd, “This pandemic gives Democrats a tremendous opportunity to restructure things to fit our vision.”If 'We the People' allow the progressive socialist left to force, coerce, threaten and intimidate us into submission and abject subjugation, we will no longer be citizens. We will become 'We the Sheeple.' Click To Tweet
If “We the People” allow the progressive socialist left — and some very progressive, weak Republicans — to force, coerce, threaten and intimidate us into submission and abject subjugation, we will no longer be citizens. We will become “We the Sheeple.”
And, in the nation’s largest city we see that happening.
As reported by Fox News:
“New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio and NYPD Commissioner Dermot Shea stated outright this week that people are not permitted to gather for protests in public due to the coronavirus pandemic.
The city leaders pointed to the need to maintain social distancing in order to prevent greater spread of COVID-19, stating that this takes precedence over people’s rights to exercise their First Amendment rights of free speech and assembly.
“You’re talking about some of the values we hold in the highest regard in this country and certainly in this city, the right for people to gather, the right to free speech and the right to protest,” Shea said during a Monday press briefing. “But now comes the bad news, we’re in a pandemic and executive orders have been issued, these are laws that have been passed down through executive order to keep people alive, while we greatly, greatly respect the right of people to protest, there should not be protests taking place in the middle of a pandemic by gathering outside and putting people at risk.”
The announcement came a day after the Reclaim Pride LGBT advocacy group protested Mount Sinai hospital’s relationship with the Samaritan Purse Christian organization, which set up a field hospital in Central Park for COVID-19 patients in an effort to reduce Mount Sinai’s load. The group objected to the hospital working with the religious organization, claiming that its leadership has espoused bigoted views.
“People who want to make their voices heard, there are plenty of ways to do it without gathering in person,” de Blasio said. The mayor said if people who have messages they want to spread care about protecting other people, “use all the other tools you have to get your point across but avoid anything that might put other people in harm’s way.”
US Attorney General Barr was explicit and clear in affirming that an emergency does not warrant suspension of our Bill of Rights. I must say, we are not in any doggone pandemic, we have become victims of a pan(ic)demic. I do not agree with this Reclaim Pride LGBT group, but they do have First Amendment rights to freedom of speech, expression, peaceable assembly, and to petition the government for a redress of grievances. Those are rights enshrined in our rule of law, our Constitution. Executive orders are not laws! I am sick and tired of elected officials and others making this false assertion.
Laws are made by the elected representatives of the people called legislators. America is a Constitutional Republic, not a freaking monarchy or dictatorship — which is what socialists prefer — where they can arbitrarily suspend our rights. Bill de Blasio is not some feudal lord who can just issue edicts as he wishes.
We all know that COVID-19 affects a certain demographic, and we know how in New York, they botched things and caused a spread in senior living centers.
I think we all know DeBlasio’s real intent. He made be citing the Reclaim Pride LGBT group, but as a leftist tyrant, he is looking across America at the grassroots protests that are occurring. He is seeking to nip this in the bud.
If you are not concerned about the suspension of our Bill of Rights, then you are already part of the sheeple herd. We have been conditioned, and fear has been used to force us into a dangerous state of compliance. As always, leftists set a precedent for others to follow. I would not be surprised to see other leftist mayors attempting the same in other major population centers that they control, notice I did not say govern!
Hmm, I just gotta ask: where is the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) on this?
We have a simple choice before us: Citizen or Subject? The Sons of Liberty gave us their answer back on April 19, 1775, at Lexington Green and Concord Bridge. Here in Texas, we gave our answer at a place called Gonzales on October 2, 1835.
What shall be our response in 2020?
