When you travel the world there is one word that everyone associates with America: Texas. When someone says to another overseas that they are from NYC, California, or even Georgia, you get a kind of ho-hum reaction. But, say you’re from Texas and eyes light up, and they even straighten up a bit in their posture. Let’s admit it, Texas is larger than life and it is the only state flag that is authorized to fly at the same height as the US flag. That is because Texas was its own Republic before it became a part of these United States of America. That is why there is a real pride, swagger, here in Texas that you just do not see anywhere else in America.
I remember when I was stationed at Ft. Hood Texas and got my driver’s license. I looked down and it said Texas, and it created a certain swelling of the chest. I loved the eight years we spent in Kansas. Ft. Bragg and Camp Lejeune at famed, historic duty stations, but Texas, oh boy!
When I was offered a chance to come back to Texas, leaving South Florida, back in 2014, it was not a hard decision. We had spent eleven years in South Florida, where I had been a Congressional Representative. But, as a born and raised Georgian and Tennessee Volunteer, I had to answer the call that many Georgians and Tennesseans did back in 1835-1836.
The first President of Texas, Sam Houston, had been a Governor of Tennessee. Davy Crockett had been a Congressional Representative from Tennessee. The early “Liberty or Death” flag, known as the Troutman Flag that showcased the Blue Lone Star was made by a young girl from Macon Georgia, not far from where my Mom grew up. So, I was just following the footsteps of many predecessors coming back to Texas. And, just as they came for a fight for individual liberty and freedom from tyranny, so we find ourselves in Texas in the same, ideological, fight.
Instead of General Santa Anna and his army, we have the leftist army also seeking to implement their modern vision of tyrannical rule. They will use any means necessary to defeat that which was won all those years ago. We face their hidden army in Antifa, Autonomous Student Network, and in legions of delusional followers who cannot seem to fathom the destruction they seek to levy against this State, the Lone Star State, that is indicative of our America.
This progressive socialism has overrun the states that led the fight for our American independence, Massachusetts and Virginia. And doggone, they are setting their sights on the next crown jewel of America, Texas.
Who are these people? Well, we see their faces being represented in two of the most absurd and deranged individuals: Robert Francis O’Rourke and Joaquin Castro.
“O’Rourke appears to slime all Trump voters here, stating that it’s “really hard” to see a 2020 Trump vote as anything other than a racist act. CNN’s Jake Tapper poses the question — which strikes me as a natural one, given Beto’s nonstop racial rhetoric — and after pausing for a beat or two, the candidate launches headlong into a vast slander: President Trump won your home state of Texas by nine points,” host Jake Tapper said.
“Almost 63 million Americans voted for him. Do you think it is racist to vote for President Trump in 2020?”
There was a long pause from O’Rourke before he said, “I think it’s really hard . . . I think it’s really hard after everything that we’ve seen from his time as a candidate in 2016 to his repeated warnings of invasions to his repeated calls to send them back,” O’Rourke said.
“Sending back people who are U.S. citizens, sending back people who were born in this country.”
I would offer that it is not exactly the wisest thing to try and coerce people to disassociate from President Trump by calling their racists, white supremacists, and white nationalists. And how does one categorize Black, Hispanic, Asian, and Female supporters of President Trump? If the progressive socialist leftists like Bob O’Rourke believe that they can stupidly shame people into voting for them or even just staying at home, they are very wrong. But, ask yourself, when did Texas start producing these type of males? I mean truthfully, can anyone see Bob crossing the line and joining with Travis, a 26-year-old, at The Alamo? Do you really believe that skateboarding Bob would stand a watch on the ramparts and sign on to the rallying cry, “Victory or Death?” Nah, I did not think any of you would believe so.Then, there is Joaquin Castro. I’m sorry, but he has lost my respect, and I will not call him a congressional representative. Castro’s actions are in line with the Castros from another country in our hemisphere, not that of America, certainly not that of Texas.
As we discussed in-depth last week, this Texas Democrat has also tried to shame Trump backers as fueling”hate” by publishing a harassment hit list. His ugly tactic has yielded predictable, and, I believe, intended results.
Again from Townhall:
“With some critics of Castro’s move calling for an ethics investigation, his office is striking a defiant tone amid the backlash:
“Their letter is a disingenuous attempt by pro-dark money, far-right legislators to limit Americans’ ability to track money in politics. They would prefer large contributions to be kept secret so that there’s no meaningful transparency in political giving,” said Schneider.
“We look forward to hearing from the Committee if the request is considered.”
But Castro’s public naming of his own constituents, some of whom are older and retired or describe themselves as homemakers, was met with backlash from Trump, his campaign, Republican leaders, and even some on the left, who warned that the Texas Democrat was using his platform as a powerful lawmaker to target private citizens at a combustible moment in U.S. politics.”
So here is a federally elected official from Texas publicly exposing other Texans to verbal abuse and harassment, and potentially physical threats . . . and they believe they are justified?
Who could ever see Joaquin, or his brother Julian, being a modern-day Juan Seguin, a true Texas patriot who rode and delivered the courageous letter of Col. Wm. Barrett Travis from The Alamo to Sam Houston. And again, they spread the hate-mongering message of collective demonization of innocent Americans.
These two chuckleheads represent the face of progressive socialism, a cancer that has spread into our Texas. As we go forward into the 2020 election season, we must never forget that for which they stand. How they have viscerally attacked us all, those of us who refuse to bow down to their clear and present danger, their tyranny of collective subjugation over individual freedom. They have chosen to betray not just America, but Texas, and would, yes, use the language of our Founding Fathers in the US Constitution, Article 4, Section 4, expose us to invasion by not securing our national sovereignty.
Look at their faces, O’Rourke and Castro, and ask, is this now what Texas produces and falsely calls leadership?
