Perhaps some of you remember the movie with Bruce Willis, Josh Harnett, and Lucy Liu called “Lucky Number Slevin.” It is one of my favorites, as the twists and turns were very well concealed until the end. The movie introduced a concept called the Kansas City Shuffle, the end credits played the song. It was all about deception, and as the little ditty went, “you look left, they go right, that’s the Kansas City Shuffle.”
Well, there’s a little bit — no, excuse me — a lot of deception going on in our nation’s capitol, and sadly, much of it centers around our Department of Justice. That title seems to be quite oxymoronic these days, with major emphasis on the derivative word, moron. It’s as if there are two different types of “justice:” one for all of us, and another for all of “them” — them being the political insiders and elites. It cannot be debated that much of this hypocrisy leans in favor of Democrats. But, there are plenty of GOP enablers, ensuring that justice is no longer blind, and certainly not objective.
As we continue to hear about Russian collusion, or insidious stories about porn stars, there are some real issues happening in our government. I am not just talking about the nefarious actions of folks like Peter Strzok and Lisa Paige, of whom most on the left have no clue. I am talking about an issue that is utterly serious and should be of grave concern to the national security of these United States of America. I am talking about the Imran Awan case.
Now, if you have not heard of this, well, perhaps you are tuning into the wrong sources for your news information. Needless to say, the infamous fourth estate, the liberal progressive media, has been a willing accomplice to the deception, and incessant disinformation campaign, mostly emanating from the leftist rule for radicals talking point strategy. But, what just happened in the Awan case should send chills down the spine of every true American . . . those not out with stupid signage and protesting “Abolish ICE.” I bet they have no clue about the Awan case.
As reported by Fox News:
“In an incredible sweetheart plea deal, Imran Awan – a former IT aide to Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz, D-Fla., and other congressional Democrats – pleaded guilty Tuesday to one count of making a false statement on a home equity loan. Shockingly, the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the District of Columbia issued a news release about Awan’s plea agreement that made no mention of his IT work for Democrats in Congress, no mention of Wasserman Schultz, and made his case sound like a minor local criminal matter of little interest to anyone. It was headlined: “Virginia Man Pleads Guilty to Making False Statement on Application for Home Equity Loan.”
Awan is due to be sentenced Aug. 21 and could get off with no jail sentence, according the plea agreement. Prosecutors said they would not recommend jail time – in effect, giving Awan a get-out-of-jail-free card. Just like that, the Department of Justice is making an important case go away as if nothing much happened. Awan’s wife, Hina Alvi, is having all charges against her dismissed as part of the agreement. Awan, as a part of this plea agreement, also “will not be charged” for any other nonviolent crimes he may have committed in Washington prior to the agreement, according to this deal.”
If you want to know why I have little to no faith in our current Department of Justice leadership, this is why. It’s just a reminder of what Imran Awan, his wife, and his brother were alleged to have done, Don’t forget that his wife fled the United States, and he was nabbed trying to do likewise with a boatload of cash on him.
The plea deal agreement even exonerates Awan by saying in part that “the Government agrees that the public allegations that your client (Imran Awan) stole U.S. House of Representatives (‘House’) equipment and engaged in unauthorized or illegal conduct involving House computer systems do not form the basis of any conduct relevant to the determination of the sentence in this case.”
But there is so much more to this case. Even on the simple theft of government equipment there is a lot there for prosecutors. One of Awan’s former tenants, a retired U.S. Marine, even found and turned over to authorities several computers and smart phones with government markings on them that he found in Awan’s rental property.
There is also internal U.S. House of Representatives’ paperwork detailing some of what went on in the offices Awan and his associates who did contract IT work for congressional Democrats.
Internal House Inspector General findings have also determined that Awan copied the emails of up to 44 Democratic House members and other personal data and backed them up to a server that reportedly went missing and to a Dropbox account.
Awan, his wife and other relatives and friends were also all paid exorbitant salaries for working as IT contractors for members of Congress for years – even though many of them didn’t have any expertise in IT and even though they didn’t undergo background checks.
It is also likely that a few of Awan’s associates didn’t even show up to earn all the money they were paid. Still, no charges have been filed against Awan or his brothers relating to alleged thefts, possible espionage and for providing false information (an image of the Democratic House Caucus computer server) to Capitol Police.
It is actually very hard to sum-up all that this group of IT aides (who are almost all from Pakistan) did and the crimes they might have committed.”
Now, I want y’all to just imagine this for a minute: what if there were 44 House Republicans who had a mysterious Pakistani IT contractor who was paid unrealistic amounts of money — I’m talking six-figures — who was truly caught stealing US government property? What if a GOP Congressman, and head of the RNC, shielded and demonized anyone seeking to investigate this person?Something stinks to all levels about this, but guess what? Imran Awan is walking free, and there's not a doggone thing that will be done to him. Click To Tweet
Something stinks to all levels about this, but guess what? Imran Awan is walking free, and there’s not a doggone thing that will be done to him. In my mind, we have a major coverup of espionage occuring in our US House of Representatives, not to mention treason if there is evidence of complicity. To think those astute Capitol Hill Police Officers, who did their duty to the utmost of their ability, will watch this fella walk away. What message does that send to them? Several of these Democrat members of Congress sat on the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence, and they actually had an IT contractor who did not undergo a security background check? Doggone, the Pakistani ISI must be laughing their arses off at us and this foolishness. He pleaded guilty to fraud on a home equity loan? This is beyond even FUBAR, and it is immensely unconscionable.
I just have to ask: what the heck does Jeff Sessions do as the Attorney General of these United States of America? Dang, just bring back that partisan idiot, Eric Holder . . . at least we knew that he was corrupt as heck. I just don’t know who, or what, is in charge of our Department of Justice, but if this continues, we are going to find ourselves in a very bad situation soon.
Just a parting reason why you should be incensed at this story, and debacle:
“When I asked Justice Department prosecutor J.P. Cooney why the government made this odd plea deal he just smiled and waved me away as he told me to ask the Justice Department Office of Public Affairs. The office declined to answer my questions.”
Hmm, this reminds me of the US Army Judge that allowed Bowe Bergdahl, a deserter, to walk free . . .
