If there is one thing we must realize about the left in America, they despise personal success and achievement unless it has been mandated by their absurd policies. If there is one thing so utterly incomprehensible, it is this insidious campaign about a $15 minimum wage.
Who are these socialists to demand that a private sector business pay a certain wage? First of all, no one should be considering a minimum wage job, position, as a career choice. As I recall my days back in Airborne School in 1984, SGT Airborne would admonish us, “if you set the bar low, you will jump low.” Therein lies the objective of socialism: to collectively make victims, and grow a dependency upon them. Instead, they reject the notion that an individual can set their own sights as to what success is, and achieve it of their own volition.
I often say it is the difference between the equality of opportunity and the equality of outcomes. And for avowed socialists like Bernie Sanders and Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, they advocate for the latter. Simple, they need victims, not victors in order to succeed, to exist.
As reported by Fox News:
“Amazon on Monday fired back at Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, D-N.Y. after she claimed that the tech giant pays its warehouse workers “starvation wages.”
“.@AOC is just wrong,” the company wrote in a tweet.
“Amazon is a leader on pay at $15 min wage + full benefits from day one. We also lobby to raise federal min[imum] wage.”In a statement provided to Fox Business, an Amazon spokesperson went even further, calling the allegations “absurd.”
“These allegations are absurd. Amazon associates receive industry-leading pay starting at $15 an hour – in fact, hourly associates at our Staten Island facility earn between $17.30 and $23 an hour, plus benefits which include comprehensive medical, dental, and vision insurance,” the spokesperson told Fox Business.
“On top of these benefits, Amazon pre-pays 95% of continuing education tuition costs through its Career Choice program for associates who want to pursue in-demand careers. For anyone who wants to know what it’s like to work in an Amazon fulfillment center, sign up for a tour today.”
The self-described “Democratic socialist” lawmaker said that Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos became a billionaire due to “paying people starvation wages and stripping them of their ability to access healthcare, and also if his ability to be a billionaire is predicated on the fact that his workers are taking food stamps.”
Bezos has an estimated net worth of $155.1 billion, making him the richest person in the world, according to Forbes.”
There are two very obvious hypocrisies here. First, we all know that Jeff Bezos is not exactly what one would refer to as a constitutional conservative. He is a leftist, and just like ol’ Bernie Sanders, has used the free market capitalist system to become quite wealthy. I mean think about it, ol’ feel da Bern never had a job until he was in his early 40s . . . talk about a moocher.
The other apparent hypocrisy is, well, if Ms. Ocasio-Cortez was so worried about “starvation wages,” then why did she block Amazon moving into her congressional district and creating high paying jobs for her constituents? The answer is simple: she would then lose victims, and leftism cannot thrive without victims.
Think about the most recent rhetorical line by the progressive socialists. There can be no debate, the US economy is going strong, so how does one combat that fact? The easy answer is that it’s not fair. Yes, that is what the leftists, especially those running for president on the Democrat (socialist) side are saying.
Heck, remember when that leftist sage, Bill Maher, admitted that he wanted the economy to crash? Yes, folks, they do not want you to be successful, prosperous, or able to have a quality life. They want America to return to high unemployment and a lagging Gross Domestic Product (GDP) rate. I find it laughable that Ocasio-Cortez would mention folks being on food stamps when it was Barack Hussein Obama who forced millions of Americans onto food stamps. Mention that to a lefty and you get crickets.
Under the Trump economy, there have been millions lifted off of government assistance and food stamps. Nothing angers the left more. “Dang it, that doggone Trump and his economic policies are making more Americans victors, not victims! How do we defeat him? Oh yeah, ‘Russia, Russia, Russia.'” In other words, the left must demonize President Trump and foment such emotional hatred, that they are actually proving to us all that they do, indeed, hate America and American success.
Ponder this: why did those Londoners come out to protest President Trump? Why did they not protest Barack Hussein Obama who told them they would be in the back of the queue if they chose Brexit? It’s simple: because Obama made America out to be what leftists love, a victim, a loser and not a victor. And the Europeans loved seeing a weak America, beaten down, disparaged, even by its very own President.
The choice for us going forward is clear. No, not the “choice” that the progressive socialist left embraces, killing unborn, and born, babies. The choice for America is whether we want to be a nation of victims, or a Constitutional Republic of victors!
Why do you think the left wants open borders? Yes, they need to replenish the well of victims, voters for their despotic tyranny.
