I know some of you may not care about the issue I will be presenting. I ask your indulgence because I think there is a lot to be said about why we are not hearing about this.
Just yesterday President Trump tweeted — though I wish he would not conduct policy via social media — that SecState Pompeo will not be traveling to North Korea, as originally announced on Thursday. President Trump cited a lack of progress with the denuclearization process.
President Trump also mentioned a lack of support from China on the matter. I believe that we are at a critical point in our relationship with China. We need to realize that they are more adversary than potential friend. China is developing a military capability with one goal, and purpose in mind: defeating the United States in the Pacific Rim. We know that China is behind many cyber-attacks against our nation. As well, China has continuously conducted theft of our intellectual property, closed off their markets to our goods and services, and demanded — forced — technology transfers. China’s President XI Jinping is supposed to be visiting our White House. Perhaps the invitation should be cancelled, especially after these reports.
As reported by Reuters, dated August 10th,
“A United Nations human rights panel said on Friday that it had received many credible reports that 1 million ethnic Uighurs in China are held in what resembles a “massive internment camp that is shrouded in secrecy.”Gay McDougall, a member of the U.N. Committee on the Elimination of Racial Discrimination, cited estimates that 2 million Uighurs and Muslim minorities were forced into “political camps for indoctrination” in the western Xinjiang autonomous region.“We are deeply concerned at the many numerous and credible reports that we have received that in the name of combating religious extremism and maintaining social stability (China) has changed the Uighur autonomous region into something that resembles a massive internment camp that is shrouded in secrecy, a sort of ‘no rights zone’,” she told the start of a two-day regular review of China’s record, including Hong Kong and Macao. China has said that Xinjiang faces a serious threat from Islamist militants and separatists who plot attacks and stir up tensions between the mostly Muslim Uighur minority who call the region home and the ethnic Han Chinese majority. A Chinese delegation of some 50 officials made no comment on her remarks at the Geneva session that is scheduled to continue on Monday. The U.S. mission to the United Nations said on Twitter that it was “deeply troubled by reports of an ongoing crackdown on Uighurs and other Muslims in China.”
There may be some of you who are saying, so what? I just find it interesting that we have not heard anything from the progressive socialist left on this issue. The left are always quick to throw up the Japanese internment camps, a horrible part of our history, that happened during World War II. As well, the progressive socialist left is always front and center to run to the aid of, and provide cover for, Islamic jihadist attacks in the United States. This includes the most recent, blatant, Islamic squalor camp in New Mexico, where they were training to attack schools. A leftist Judge even released all those charged on a signature bond, so why is the left mum on this issue?
Perhaps it could be that the growing movement of “Democratic Socialism” in America, which is allied with secular humanists, and embraces a historical, and time-honored practice, of religious persecution by the left. What we are seeing happen to the Uighurs in China has been occurring with Christians, to a lesser degree, by the ChiComs. There have been reports of pictures of Jesus Christ being taken down in churches, replaced by pictures of dictator, Xi Jinping. Remember, in socialism, marxism, communism, the State is above all and there is no regard for any faith or religious belief. As a matter of fact, what we are seeing the Chinese do now is just a repeat of that which was done by Chairman Mao Tse-Tung. As some wise man once said, “those who fail to learn from history are doomed to repeat it.”
Yes, I agree that militant Islamic jihadism is a global issue, but trapping millions in “re-education” camps is not the answer. Imagine if we, here, in America attempted to intern the entire Somali community in Minneapolis, even knowing the issue of islamic jihadist activity within that community? That is not going to happen, nor is it in keeping with our values. Therefore, why would we stoop down to China’s level and provide Xi Jinping any recognition, realizing that truthfully, he is a diabolical dictator?
We should recognize the real China, not the Chinese people, but the ruling Communist party. I often hear pundits talk about how President Trump needs to provide Xi Jinping an exit ramp, allowing him to “save face.” I disagree. Why should we allow a communist dictator any advantage? We are facing a time when we can undermine several global dictators, despots. But, what I do find interesting, perplexing, is that the progressive socialist left says nothing about Venezuela, nor religious internment camps in China. It’s quite telling.
