Our thoughts, prayers, and condolences to the congregants of the Tree of Life Synagogue in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
Today, we were once again reminded that evil does, indeed, dwell amongst us and it reared its ugly head today. We should not live in an America where anyone should face such tragic horror because of their chosen faith. The very first individual right in our Constitution’s Bill of Rights is the freedom of religion and the free exercise thereof.
Deranged, unhinged, and demented people, such as this assailant, do indeed have a special place in hell.
To all, my dear Jewish friends here in America, Israel, and across the world, I mourn with you. Perhaps, just maybe, we will find the courage to no longer tolerate the existence of anti-Semitism in America, as espoused by folks like Louis Farrakhan, or found on college and university campuses, as well as in policies such as Boycott, Divest, and Sanction (BDS).
This is a teachable moment, and that moment says, “Never Again” means just exactly that. May those who lost their lives, and their families find peace and comfort in the loving arms of Hashem.
