Today is college football Saturday. Here in Dallas, folks will be geared up for another iteration of the Red River Shootout, Texas vs. Oklahoma.
But, there is drama being played out elsewhere in America, far away from the Cotton Bowl in Dallas, or other college football venues. There’s massive drama that is happening in Washington, DC, on Capitol Hill.
It’s a funny thing, but when a Democrat president nominates someone for the Supreme Court, there is little attention paid to it. As a matter of fact, most Americans have no idea it’s even happening. Such was the case with Barack Obama nominating Sonia Sotomayor, and Elena Kagan, to the bench.
But, something happens when Republican presidents make a nomination . . . and it seems, especially this GOP President, Donald Trump. Everything President Trump does triggers the progressive, socialist left, but, nothing has created more drama than his nomination of Judge Brett Kavanaugh to the Supreme Court.
So, today, there will be cameras, crowds, and yes, rioting leftist protesters seeking to threaten, intimidate, and coerce members of the US Senate. Why? We have articulated that answer on several occasions, it is about judicial activism, and rule from the courts, not interpreting the law. It’s about the progressive, socialist left’s concern that they will not have control, or power, over the US Supreme Court.
We’ve seen the left in America show a level of rage, evil, and ugliness in the most heinous, and despicable manner of behavior. However, what is even more disconcerting are the reactions of leftists towards those who would support an esteemed jurist like Brett Kavanaugh. Here we have another example of the progressive, socialist mob seeking to destroy anyone that does not tow their ideological line.
As reported by CNN:
“Facebook is due to hold an internal town hall on Friday [yesterday] to address employee concerns after the company’s top executive in Washington appeared in support of Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh at a Senate hearing.
Joel Kaplan, Facebook’s VP of global public policy, is a personal friend of Kavanaugh’s, and they worked together during the last George W. Bush administration. Kaplan sat behind Kavanaugh, among the judge’s family and friends, throughout Kavanaugh’s appearance before the Senate Judiciary Committee last Thursday.
Kaplan’s presence took Facebook colleagues by surprise, including those who work with him at the company’s office in Washington, according to a person familiar with the internal strife caused by Kaplan’s attendance at the hearing.
“No one knew,” the person told CNN Business. “Let’s assume for a minute that our VP of Policy understands how Senate hearings work,” one Facebook employee wrote in an internal message board posting seen by The New York Times. “His seat choice was intentional, knowing full well that journalists would identify every public figure appearing behind Kavanaugh. He knew that this would cause outrage internally, but he knew that he couldn’t get fired for it. This was a protest against our culture, and a slap in the face to his fellow employees.”
Sheryl Sandberg, the company’s chief operating officer, weighed in on the issue in an internal post Friday, a day after the hearing.
“I’ve talked to Joel about why I think it was a mistake for him to attend given his role in the company. We support people’s right to do what they want in their personal time but this was by no means a straight-forward case,” Sandberg wrote in an internal post seen by CNN Business. Details of the post were first reported by The New York Times.
“As a woman and someone who cares so deeply about how women are treated, the Kavanaugh issue is deeply upsetting to me — as I know it is to many women and men in our company and around the world,” she wrote.
Facebook did not immediately respond to a request for comment from Kaplan. A Facebook spokesperson said in a statement, “Sexual assault is an issue society has turned a blind eye to for far too long — compounding every victim’s pain. Our leadership team recognizes that they’ve made mistakes handling the events of the last week and we’re grateful for all the feedback from our employees.”
This is unconscionable! Joel Kaplan is being attacked for no other reason than the fact he supported a friend. For Facebook to believe that it needed a town hall to quell the bloodthirst of the mob is just unfathomable. Brett Kavanaugh is guilty of nothing.
Brett Kavanaugh was accused of actions that were never corroborated, and for which there has been no evidence provided. Yes, I admit, the Kavanaugh issue is deeply upsetting to me, because it shows that the progressive, socialist left in America will cast aside due process, and the rule of law, for their political purposes.
What is even more disconcerting is that this mob mentality has so overtaken our country that these leftists believe they can threaten and intimidate anyone who opposes them ideologically. Why appease this type of behavior, and hold a town hall meeting? Why make these public declarations, seemingly accusing Joel Kaplan of doing something wrong? I suppose that if Joel Kaplan had been there in that Senate Judiciary hearing room, shouting and screaming obscenities towards Judge Kavanaugh, and was arrested, he would be deemed a hero by these same folks at Facebook who are so triggered.
All of this drama is disgusting, and does not reflect the “better angels of our nature. If anything, as the song by INXS says, it shows “the devil inside” of some people. There’s no other way to characterize this than evil when you have the folks on the left stating that those who do not vote their way, or support those who vote for Kavanaugh should be confronted, or perhaps attacked. We already know that Mad Max Waters has issued her fatwa against those she ideologically opposes . . . those who trigger the mob.
Ladies and gents, there is no longer a Democratic party in the United States of America. They should be referred to as the Mobocrats, a gang embracing thuggish behavior, and seeking to institute a mobocracy in America. We should not be surprised at all, since it was the Democrat party that started the nation’s first domestic terrorist group, the Ku Klux Klan. And, it is the Democrat party that embraces the principles, and values, of a white supremacist, and racist, who founded the group Planned Parenthood. They are now threatening any US Senator that will vote for Judge Brett Kavanaugh.
Yes, this is college football Saturday, but there is a far more important contest happening in America, one that will decide our future. Today the Mobocrats do not wear white robes and hoods — though, some do wear black hoods and masks, Antifa — but these new domestic terrorists are in the open . . . and Joel Kaplan has become one of their targets.
If you do not acquiesce, or subjugate yourself to their ideological agenda, you are a target as well.
