I remember that in the 2008 and 2012 presidential elections, the left always said how they could see themselves voting for John McCain, or Mitt Romney. So, what did the GOP do? They nominated them. Of course, the left then proceeded to tear them apart. For the life of me, why should any Republican care about what the left thinks about a potential nominee? Regardless of who gets selected, they are going to be unacceptable. Imagine if President Trump were to nominate Moses to be a Supreme Court Justice? Well, the left would go apoplectic, and certainly refer to him as a murderer.Imagine if President Trump were to nominate Moses to be a Supreme Court Justice? Just so you know, the US House of Representatives’ upper wall contains pictures in profile of the world’s great lawgivers. There is only whose face is shown in full, looking down upon the Speaker’s rostrum, and that is Moses.
When a Democrat president nominates anyone for the Supreme Court, the left demands acquiescence, and subjugation. When a Republican nominates someone, well, you have a complete leftist meltdown, and some of the most vicious partisan political attacks imaginable. Can you say Robert Bork, Clarence Thomas, or Harriet Miers (only the seventh SCOTUS nominee to withdraw in US history)?
So, here we are on the weekend before the announcement of President Trump’s second nomination to the Supreme Court.
The person I hope President Trump selects is Amy Coney Barrett. Why? Because I know she drives the left bat crap crazy, and that’s a good thing.
As reported by Fox News:
“If President Trump nominates Amy Coney Barrett to the Supreme Court, the federal judge can expect her second bruising round of confirmation hearings in less than a year and more of what supporters call “unfair criticisms” about her faith. Barrett, 46, is one of six judges Trump has already interviewed to replace retiring Justice Anthony Kennedy on the bench. She is a federal appeals court judge who was appointed by Trump in 2017. Her Senate confirmation was anything but easy as she was grilled by Democrats about her religious background. She once told a 2006 Notre Dame Law School graduating class that their “legal career is but a means to an end, and . . . that end is building the kingdom of God . . . If you can keep in mind that your fundamental purpose in life is not to be a lawyer, but to know, love and serve God, you truly will be a different kind of lawyer.”
“The dogma lives loudly within you, and that’s of concern,” Sen. Dianne Feinstein, D-Calif., said during the September 2017 hearing. When Sen. Dick Durbin, D-Ill. asked if she was an “orthodox Catholic” — a term used in a paper she co-authored two decades before — Barrett clarified she is a “faithful Catholic” but would “stress my personal church affiliation or my religious belief would not bear on the discharge of my duties as a judge.” After Barrett’s hearing, Princeton University President Christopher L. Eisgruber said he was “deeply concerned by the harsh and often unfair criticisms that are now routinely levelled from both sides of the political spectrum against distinguished judicial nominees who would serve this country honorably and well,” including Barrett. He urged the Senate Judiciary Committee to “refrain from interrogating nominees about the religious or spiritual foundations of their jurisprudential views.”
I hope Judge Barrett is nominated so that we can see that the whole “dogma” about the left caring so much for women is just a hypocritical ruse. They only care about women who embrace their religion: progressive socialist dogma. We all know the truth, that nothing drives the left crazier than strong, principled, and intelligent Christian constitutional conservative women and minorities. God save you if you are a minority woman Christian constitutional conservative. Imagine the theater of the absurd if Judge Barrett is the nominee? The fact that her faith is being criticized, and not her bona fides as a legal scholar, and judicial mind is very telling. One would think that the possibility of an American woman with seven children being nominated to the highest court in the land would be welcomed by all. That’s not the case when it comes to the left, as Judge Barrett represents all that the left despises: a woman of faith, conviction, and a mother who did not murder her own children in her womb, and adopted two others.
I would find it truly interesting to see female Senators such as Murkowski, Collins, Heitkamp, McCaskill, Warren, Baldwin, and Harris turn their backs against a superbly capable and skilled jurist such as Judge Amy Coney Barrett. I wonder if Madeline Albright will condemn them to hell if they don’t vote for her?
Judge Barrett once clerked for the astute strict constitutionalist, Justice Antonin Scalia, and from what I have read, and heard, she was his favorite. Well, that is just about all I need to hear. Spare me the ol’ “she does not have experience” line — neither did Elena Kagan.
There should be only one litmus test for a Supreme Court nominee: a thorough understanding of the Constitution of the United States of America. That’s because there is only one primary task given under Article III of the Constitution to the Judicial branch: interpret the law according to the Constitution.
I find it despicable that anyone is asking Judge Barrett about her part of the “People of Praise” group. Ask yourselves this very question:, what if the left were to nominate a female Muslim to the Supreme Court who was a member of the Council for American Islamic Relations (CAIR)? You can bet that any challenge would be met with anger, and vitriol. We all know that one Huma Abedin had some very questionable associations in her family, but pointing that out, well . . . you know.
From a political aspect, nominating Judge Amy Coney Barrett would be the just desserts, the right medicine, for the progressive socialist left. We would further see that when it comes to the “war on women,” they are indeed the true perpetrators. Well, that is war on conservative women. Women, just like minorities, who do not march to the leftist agenda are denigrated, demeaned, disparaged as heretics . . . just as in Islam one who converts to Christianity is an apostate. And, we know the punishment for apostasy in Islamic jurisprudence. Judge Barrett would have to face this all over again. But I believe that her faith and convictions are strong enough to bear that cross, as she knows what sacrifice is all about.
All over the country, the progressive socialist left would be in full bloom. Their hatred would be wholeheartedly uncovered. We would see just how far to the left they have gone, and witness their secular humanism in its worst form. They couldn’t care less about the impeccable talents and intellect of Judge Amy Coney Barrett. All they would see is someone who has to be utterly destroyed, and their contempt, anger, and rage would not be contained.
It is time we constitutional conservatives stop thinking in terms of who we can nominate that the left will accept, like, or tolerate. The left in America represent that which is the most intolerable. Therefore, it is time we recognize that fact, and be bold, not recalcitrant. The left in America never does anything with concern about conservative approval. If anything, they want to crush any dissent.
President Trump, nominate Judge Amy Coney Barrett. She is impeccably qualified, and she has been made for a time such as this.
Sadly, folks like Diane Feinstein, and others from the left, have no clue as to whom I refer. Judge Barrett knows one very important thing, and that comes from Isaiah 54:17 (New King James Version), ” No weapon formed against you shall prosper, And every tongue which rises against you in judgment. You shall condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord, And their righteousness is from Me,” says the Lord.”
End of story.
