Howdy y’all! The 147th Annual Meeting and Convention of the NRA is in full swing.
Today, President Trump addressed the NRA-ILA Leadership Forum, and I’m quite sure that will be widely covered and interesting. The NRA was the first major organization to come out and officially endorse candidate Donald Trump back in 2016 at the NRAAM in Louisville. Of course the liberal progressive media mocked and scorned the NRA leadership for doing so. Who’s laughing now?
Let’s be honest: the real reason there are protesters against the NRA has nothing to do with Stoneman Douglas HS. It is all about the grassroots political activism of the NRA, and its 5M + members.
The left wants the NRA gone, and yes, they do want the Second Amendment repealed, eradicated, and erased. The leftists need the ability to bully the American people, those who do not embrace their progressive socialist ideological agenda. The liberal progressive left really wants to — but know they cannot — fully coerce, intimidate, threaten, and enact violence against their political opposition as long as the NRA exists . . . the guardians of the Second Amendment.
Since Obama is gone, Hillary did not win, and the corruption of the Deep State is being revealed, the left can no longer depend on “weaponizing” federal government agencies against the American people. That was the primary mission of the Department of (in)Justice and the Internal Revenue Service under the Obama administration.
But also assisting in the unraveling of the progressive socialist left, as they seek to undermine the NRA, are their own words and actions. Enter our subject for today’s missive: the delusional House Minority Leader, California’s own, Nancy Pelosi.
As reported by CNS News:
“House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D.-Calif.) explained in a speech delivered yesterday in Manhattan, why she tells Republicans that their political survival is not worth the lives of children. Pelosi was there to celebrate what she called a “life-saving event”—the signing of a law by New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo that will prevent “domestic abusers” from owning guns in that state.
“Aren’t we proud of Governor Cuomo?” Pelosi said. “Thank you Governor Cuomo for the honor of participating today in this very important, life-saving event, signing this important legislation. I am honored to be here with you once again. I’ve been here when you have signed legislation to save lives and promote families. I’m so happy you began your remarks by talking about family.”
“This is the tipping point,” Pelosi said of the gun-control issue. “The governor said 19 years ago, Columbine. This goes on and on. These little children in Newtown. And now these teenagers, registering voters, understanding. And I don’t want them to be partisan. I want this to be bipartisan across the board. But we have to get it done. “And I’ve said to my Republican colleagues in the Congress: Not one of your political survivals is more important than the survivals of our children,” said Pelosi. “We must pass this legislation.”
Uh, well, where do I start? First of all, I find it rather comical and hypocritical that Nancy Pelosi would make mention of “political survival” over survival of our children. C’mon, Nancy, you mean to tell me that those hundreds of unborn children who are murdered every day by your buddies at Planned Parenthood are less important that YOUR political survival? I mean seriously, we are talking about an organization that has turned dismembering of our unborn children into an industry…one that receives $568.7M of taxpayer finding — which Ms. Pelosi and her ilk vehemently fight to sustain.
I have not seen a single dollar of taxpayer funding go to the NRA, which does indeed have programs that promote saving lives of women, children, and families.
It’s the NRA that offers a training program called “School Shield” that provides — voluntarily — firearms training for teachers who wish to protect our children — ya know, save their lives, and ensure their survival.
Sadly, ol’ Nancy either doesn’t know this, or is a manipulative liar who refuses to acknowledge said program. Uh, Nancy does Planned Parenthood offer any programs support life? You know, survival of our unborn children?
Ms. Pelosi refers back to Columbine and Newtown, but makes no mention of the issue of mental illness in these incidents. If there is a common theme, that’s surely one. So, how do we go forward and develop policies that prevent the mentally ill from having access to firearms? Now, the liberal progressive left wants no part in actual fact, which, for them, is like sunlight to a vampire. Funny, we have not heard much ranting from the left post the Waffle House shooting in Nashville Tennessee. Why? Simple: the system was working until an idiot dad broke the rule of common sense and returned firearms to his “known” mentally ill son. That dad deserves to be in prison right with his son — except the son should be getting the death penalty. The dad should get a life sentence.
Ms. Pelosi seems to want to heap accolades and praise upon New York Governor Cuomo. Why?
Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms (BATF) Form 4473 asks these questions of anyone seeking to purchase a firearm:
11c Have you ever been convicted in any court of a felony, or any other crime for which the judge could imprison you for more than one year? Y/N
11h Are you a subject to a court order restraining you from harassing, stalking, or threatening your child or an intimate partner or child of such partner? Y/N
11i Have you ever been convicted in any court of a misdemeanor crime of domestic violence? Y/N
As well, there is a question about mental capacity, and if the applicant has ever been committed to a mental institution. Also, there is a question to any former member of our Armed Services, asking if they were discharged under “dishonorable” conditions? Y/N.
So, why is Ms. Pelosi praising Gov. Cuomo?
Obviously, these chuckleheads have never purchased a firearm and therefore have no knowledge about the process.
Now, here is the rub: the Sutherland Springs Texas shooter was not a legal firearms owner. He had been convicted of domestic abuse, violence, a crime for which he received a bad conduct discharge from the US Air Force. The problem was, no one entered him into the system for NICS (National Instant Criminal Background Checks System).
Just the same as with Nikolas Cruz, the Stoneman Douglas HS shooter. The Broward Sheriff’s Office had answered some 45 domestic disturbance calls. The Broward School Board, Stoneman Douglas HS, had expelled Cruz for reasons stemming from violent threats. Yet, none of this was ever entered into a record, and therefore posted to the NICS so that Cruz would have not been eligible to purchase firearms.
So, no Nancy, Gov. Cuomo deserves no praise or accolades, because he simply doesn’t realize that these checks are already in place. And if someone finds a way to illegally purchase a firearm, well, hello, criminal.
And, just so you know, legally licensed firearms dealers (FFLs) face a very stiff, felony, a criminal charge for improperly selling a firearm.
Now, the liberal progressive left wants no part in actual facts, which, for them, is like sunlight to a vampire. They only want their ideological agenda and that for the modern-day Redcoats is the tyranny of their socialist governing design for our Nation, enabled by the disarming of the American people.
This is why we have a National Rifle Association. And yes, I am the NRA, and I am Freedom’s Safest Place. Sorry Nancy, but if you keep saying stupid stuff, you will not be Speaker of the House. Heck, you should have never been.
I have two words for you Nancy, and Governor Cuomo: “Molon Labe!”
