There was once a time that you had to convince people of the delusion and hypocrisy of the progressive socialist left. Heck, you were denigrated and disparaged if you dared to call them socialists, but not anymore. When it comes to the issue of illegal immigration, it is just easy to find a plethora of hypocritical statements by the left. Today, I wish to share another one, from the Grand Poobah of progressive socialism himself, Barry Soetoro.
And yes, we have the video as well.
As reported by the Washington Examiner:
“President Barack Obama said in 2014 that seeking asylum in the United States was “narrowly defined,” and likely wouldn’t apply to most people seeking asylum at the southern border. He said in a press conference, “Under U.S. law, we admit a certain number of refugees from all around the world based on some pretty narrow criteria. Typically, refugee status is not granted just based on economic need or because a family lives in a bad neighborhood or poverty. It’s typically defined, fairly narrowly. You have a state, for example, that was targeting a political activist and they need to get out of the country for fear of prosecution or even death.”
Obama’s interpretation of U.S. immigration and asylum law contradicts the feelings of many current Democratic lawmakers who have called for the decriminalization of unauthorized border crossings, the closing of migrant [illegal immigrant] detention centers, and the abolition of Immigration and Customs Enforcement.
Obama further stated of the migrants [illegal immigrants] at the southern border, “There may be some narrow circumstances in which there is a humanitarian or refugee status that a family might be eligible for. If that were the case, it would be better for them to apply in-country, rather than take a very dangerous journey all the way up to Texas to make those same claims. But, I think it’s important to recognize that would not necessarily accommodate a large number of additional migrants [illegal immigrants].”

So, what is the difference now? Oh, you know the answer to that question: President Trump sits in the Oval Office. Uh, could someone please make sure the “Suicide Squad” congresswomen get this missive, as well as all of those nutty anti-ICE protesters who have taken to firebombing ICE facilities.
As I said, the left makes this just too easy. I think this video should be on a continuous loop, and I recommend y’all send the video to all of your progressive socialist left friends and ask, “what gives, y’all?”
Yes, a video is worth a thousand words, but you can bet, this video will never make it to any progressive leftist media outlet. Gone are the days of Tim Russert on Meet the Press who would ask a question about asylum to a Democrat (socialist) lawmaker, and then play this video to get a response. That is why we cannot trust the leftist media whose incessant policy of lies of omission serves as their reason for existence, just proliferating the rhetoric and talking points of the Democrat (socialist) Party.
Have fun with this one, and let’s do what the leftist media will not . . . tell the truth!
